In 1988, while Gorbachev and Reagan engaged in the Summit Talks, children of the USSR and the USA created their own Peace Camps. These were Child Congress Summits where Soviet and American students questioned each other and listened to each other's stories. Traveling across the US, they made it their mission to create friendships that would last into the future; they were Waging Peace.
